Renault's circular arm completes Europe's first full EV powertrain remanufacture
The Future Is NEUTRAL, Renault Group's circular-economy business, announced that it and its subsidiary The Remakers had achieved the complete remanufacturing of an electric-vehicle powertrain, including the motor and power electronics — a claimed European first.
The remanufactured units are offered at an average price around 30% lower than new equivalents, developed with Renault Group and intended to be extended to other manufacturers. The achievement earned an Innovation Award at the EQUIP AUTO trade show.
Remanufacturing EV-specific components addresses a fast-growing waste stream and shows how circular manufacturing can cut both cost and resource use as vehicle fleets electrify — keeping high-value parts in service instead of scrapping them.
